The Unsolved Disappearance of Alvin Breeden

**Information obtained from the ‘Where are they?’ Podcast and other online resources as cited**

Alvin Lamont Breeden left to meet up with some friends on March 1, 2018. Alvin, a 52-year old man, lived in Durham, North Carolina and took care of his elderly mother and sister.

Alvin was a likeable guy, and was devoted to not only caring for his mother, but also his sister who suffered some illnesses and immobility as well. Alvin would never return from that afternoon out on that fateful March 1 day.

Unfortunately there is not much known about Alvin and his disappearance, but his family deserves answers.

Where is Alvin Breeden?

Alvin Lamont Breeden is one of these cases that was missed by the mainstream media. Something happened to Alvin, and yet the media barely touched his story.

So who is Alvin Lamont Breeden?

Alvin was born December 15, 1965. Out of High School, he would join the Navy. The time in the military would prove challenging for him, and after he was honorably discharged, he was diagnosed with PTSD.

This wouldn’t stop Alvin from pursuing an advanced education.

Breeden has a bachelor’s degree in human resources management and a master’s degree in human development and counseling from Troy State University. Alvin worked at group homes and as a counselor at Durham Public Schools.

Alvin would hold many jobs throughout his adult life, and at the time of his disappearance he was taking courses in a vocational rehabilitation program offered by the Department of Veterans Affairs. He was working towards a nursing assistant certification.

Alvin took care of his 81-year old mother and also helped care for his sister, who was immobile from some previous surgeries.

On Thursday, March 1, Alvin would leave his mother’s house, telling her that he was meeting friends and would be back later.

Alvin would never be seen or heard from again.

His family describes him as the super nice guy- the one always taking care of and helping everyone else before himself. Despite his diagnosis of PTSD, Alvin was under a doctor’s care and had been managing it just fine.
