Learning Challenges I have encountered recently.

I am a recent graduate who has always found it easy to cope with different environments. I also have found myself quickly learning stuff. However, since the start of the Andela Challenges, I have found that working under pressure with limited time is not easy to manage.

At the beginning of the week, I was instructed to dual-boot my laptop with Windows OS and Linux OS. This I did with ease but I did not realize I made an error in the process. I was traveling to my graduation ceremony to Voi whilst at the same time working on the challenge. I had made fair progress and everything was running smoothly till my laptop crashed.

Being new to Linux, I had to learn how to install the OS again and in the process lost all my data. Luckily, I had some of my work on Github. I had been experimenting with Github earlier on though wasn’t able to save all my work on it before the Laptop crashed. The pressure to deliver on time was increasingly pounding on me.

Finally after many hours and trials, I was able to run my laptop and finally install VS Code which got me started on the project again. I have learnt that under pressure, we must learn how to manage our time in order to at least get some work done. Without persistence, I would be having no progress at all.

I have learnt that growth mindset is all about trying harder and not giving up, because in the process of trial and error, you’ll learn one or two things, which is better than staying stuck with no progress.
